The development of industry as well as rail and road infrastructure often causes problems with maintaining already used areas in a good condition or with securing them. They are coated with various paints, bands, rubberized preparations and other specifics, but before this happens, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the surface, as this will guarantee the permanent bonding of the protection to the substrate. The most effective method is waterjetting , i.e. cleaning with a water jet under pressure from 1000 to 2800 bar. Application of cleaning – hydroblasting

Hydroblasting, or waterjetting is a high-pressure water treatment method most commonly used on concrete and steel surfaces . Waterjetting, in addition to preparing concrete and steel for anti-corrosion protection, is great at removing technological deposits, which is often used in the case of reactors, technical tanks, pipelines, heat exchangers, ship decks and holds, and in many other sensitive places. Well-selected stream aggregates, and more specifically their power, is the key to success. Other applications of waterjetting include cleaning the reinforcement structure from the remains of the old concrete coating in the event of its replacement, and water cutting of concrete structure elements.

Of course, the method of cleaning by waterjetting depends on the type of surface and requires knowledge about it. For example, metal surfaces need a different approach, aluminum needs to be washed several times after priming, galvanized steel must be properly seasoned, and bonded concrete for at least 30 days. Everything is important because waterjetting is designed to perfectly clean the surface, not to etch or destroy it.

Hydroblasting , i.e. waterjetting has only advantages. It cleans huge surfaces in a short time, which significantly saves time spent on work. Waterjetting does not cause much waste and pollution, and thus costly disposal, does not deform the surface, does not cause sparks, and above all, it precisely cleans, dusts and degreases.

Selection of equipment for the waterjetting method

Waterjetting does not exist without appropriate equipment, i.e. pressure units. Jet aggregates with adequate power ranging from 1,500 to 2,800 bar are widely used here. Waterjetting is used on surfaces of various sizes and degrees of soiling, both inside and outside. Therefore, it is important to take into account all these circumstances when selecting stream aggregates.
