The use of hydrodynamics – high pressure cleaning

Hydrodynamics is a technique that allows for effective and non-invasive high-pressure cleaning of large or hard-to-reach surfaces. In many situations, simply washing or rinsing them is not enough. Industry, construction and mining, as well as transport, struggle with such dirt. The problem is pipelines, technological tanks, heat exchangers, metal and concrete structures, formwork, ship holds and a whole lot of other nooks and crannies. There are sediments and deposits of various origins, the effects of corrosion and other chemical reactions taking place on surfaces, as well as dried concrete or old paint coatings.

Advantages of high pressure cleaning

Of course, you can use appropriate chemical preparations, but we are not sure how they will react with the cleaned surface and how much they will harm the environment. You can also use aggressive abrasives or try to do some of the work by hand or using power tools, e.g. an angle grinder. However, this will generate additional costs, will require a lot of work and effort, and ultimately will not guarantee the expected results. So why bother when you can perform high-pressure cleaning of these surfaces or objects with the use of aggregates of appropriate power. The names vary: hydroblasting, waterjetting, hydrojetting, or in the more native version, hydrodynamic cleaning or high pressure cleaning. Each of these names means the same thing – a cleaning method using very high pressure water produced by a professional generator. The purchase of such a pump is a one-time expense, then it quickly turns out how useful this device is, because there are quite a lot of possibilities and advantages here:

  • Economic account. The purchase pays off quickly, because high-pressure cleaning does not require the purchase of chemicals. In addition, it reduces the time needed to perform the work, because there is no need, for example, to dig pipes or dismantle the installation. High-pressure cleaning does not interfere with other activities performed nearby, as it does not endanger employees. Outdoor work can be done all year round, regardless of the weather. And most of all, you don’t have to pay the company that deals with this cleaning service.
  • Quality. High-pressure cleaning gives perfectly clean surfaces, cleans all, even the least accessible nooks and crannies, and additionally does not cause damage or deformation.
  • Environmental protection. There is no need to use chemicals, and thus waste is only water and spoil in the form of detached coatings and other contaminants. High-pressure cleaning is completely dust-free and therefore does not pollute the air.

Washing with water versus high pressure cleaning

Water washing is the cleaning of a surface or object with a low pressure jet of water. The values in such cases are usually close to 340 bar. You can wash dusty facades, dirty metal surfaces, clean cars from ordinary road dirt. You can also use a device that works in the range of up to 680 bar, and then it will be high pressure washing, but still washing. High-pressure cleaning starts at 680-1700 bar, while above this value, cleaning takes place using very high water pressure, up to 2500 or 3000 bar. However, both last ranges are high pressure cleaning.
